Tembalethu
Creche Building takes shape
Our mission Kindergarten, called Tembalethu
("our trust"), has always been in need of its own building. A friend from the
Netherlands saw our unused old water reservoir and designed a 3 storey high building from
it. The plans are one thing - getting the job done is something else. Through much prayer,
hard work and assistance from kind friends, the ground floor is almost complete and the
children are already in the classrooms. The bottom floor has 200 square metres of space
and it is subdivided into classrooms, play areas and rest-rooms. The children love it. The
principal of Tembalethu, Dr Gisela Haux (a vetinary surgeon) has lovingly nurtured these
children together with her assistants. Her husband, Marcus, has been very creative in
building the remarkably designed building. He has salvaged wooden planks from the bottling
factory's palattes and used a whole lot of other material which would have been discarded. |
