Invitation to Ministers' Conference 5 - 8 March 2001

"BACK TO BIBLICAL BASICS"

"The Gospel ... which you received and in which you stand." (1 Cor 15:1)

Dear Friend in Christ

The next KwaSizabantu Ministers’ Conference is around the corner and we are excited about the theme and the number of prominent speakers who have agreed to minister at the Conference.

Many Christians, especially those in leadership, agree that there is a general lethargy in the Church. South Africa is certainly not unaffected by this, and some say is even at the forefront of the move away from Biblical standards within the Church and society. Believers are struggling to come to terms with the rapidly changing world around them and easily get confused by new ideas which challenge the very fundamentals of the faith. This is the reason why we have decided upon the theme "BACK TO BIBLICAL BASICS".

Some of the international speakers who have agreed to come, are:Dr Bert Dorenbos from the Netherlands, President of Cry for Life Holland, Prof Grady McMurtry from USA, Founder and Director of Creation Worldview Ministries

The Conference dates are 5 - 8 March 2001, D.V., the first service starting on Monday evening 5 March at 7:30 pm and the final session on Thursday morning 8 March. It is especially planned in this way so that ministers can be with their congregations over the weekends.

Further details about topics and other speakers will be forthcoming. In the meantime we urge you to prayerfully consider this invitation for yourself and any colleagues who are in any form of Christian ministry, to write, email, phone or fax us to confirm your attendance.

As many in the Church depart from Biblical basics, they soon come to believe that those who still hold to the Word are the disturbers of the peace, being too radical, "on the lunatic fringe", etc. Isaiah 59:14&15 says it so aptly:"So truth falls in the street, and equity cannot enter. So truth fails, and he who departs from evil, makes himself a prey."

This coming KwaSizabantu Ministers’ Conference hopes to address a number of issues to challenge, strengthen and encourage the Church and Christian ministries.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Yours in His service

Erlo Stegen

"Preach the Word! Be ready in season and out of season. Convince, rebuke, exhort, with all longsuffering and teaching. For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers; and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables."(2 Tim 4:2-4)

"Thus says the LORD: ‘Stand in the ways and see,and ask for the old paths, where the good way is, and walk in it; Then you will find rest for your souls.’"(Jer 6:16)
