KSB Hothouses
Plastic tunnels as well as two enormous glass houses, are used to produce
specialised vegetables such as Sweet Peppers (Capsicum) and Spinach. The technique which
is used very successfully is HYDROPONICS. An Israeli drip system is used to feed the
plants with the required nutrients. A special computer system is in place to control
oxygen, carbon dioxide, temperature etc. A special packaging shed is used to pack, label
and price the products for Woolworths and other outlets. About a ton a week of sweet
peppers is produced. Our own nursery does the seedlings.
