we are reminded of Abraham and how he got a wife for his son.
Abraham is the father of believers. He has been given a high
position in heaven, as we see when Lazarus died, that he was taken to the bosom of
Abraham.
I want to be a child of Abraham, not of Lot.
People might say that young people cannot get married without
visiting each other and knowing each other. However, you do not get to know each other by
visiting etc. before marriage. Each one puts forth his or her best behaviour.
The Bible says we must flee youthful lusts, evne as you would flee
from a poisonous snake. If you play with that snake, it will bite you and you will die.
Remember Joseph who was warned in a dream to take Mary and the
child and flee to Egypt, for there are those that want to kill the Child. Joseph had to
literally take Mary and the child and flee.
So too you have to physically flee from youthful lusts, get away
from that environment that is tempting you.
If you want to enter marriage you must seek God's face, for a
wrong choice in this matter could ruin your whole life.
God might have intended great things for you but a wife not from
God might spoil it all as she drags you down in stead of building you up.
Job made a covenant with his eyes not to look upon a woman, and
God testified about Job's uprightness.
When the Lord says "flee", He doesn't mean in some
mystical way, but that you must flee physically from sin.
"Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh,
nor of the will of man, but of God." (John 1:13).
There are those born because of natural desires; but then there
are also those born because God brought them together.
Was your marriage born of God, where things don't go according to
your feelings but according to the will of God?
How then will one get married? It is possible to seek God's will
in the matter, so that He reveals to you His will to whom you should get married.
For those who say there are many ways to get married, they are
correct. The world has many ways, but God only has one way and it is as revealed in the
Bible. Seek God's will in the matter and not your own wisdom and feelings.
If you want to be in Heaven and sit at the tables with Abraham,
Isaac and Jacob, how will it be possible if you don't live the way they lived?
