From Thursday morning, 14 February, till Saturday evening 16
February 2008, a special event to promote missions was held at Moreleta Park Dutch
Reformed Church. Various mission organisations were represented with stalls and could make
presentations at seminars. There was much interest in the Kwasizabantu Mission stall
(manned by Ingrid Burger, Esther Bornman and Danie Bosman) with it's posters, pamphlets
and wide-screen video presentation of "When God Comes Down". On
Saturday there were about 15 presentations made in various parts of the 6,000 seater
Moreleta Park Church. K. Olsen presented a one hour seminar, with slides, on the topic of
"How can a mission be self-sustainable - Kwasizabantu as a model". To read more
about this talk click or download the Word document here.
To see the slides which were part of the talk go to this page with the downsized photos.
Take note that the more basic, primary projects are emphasized because most of the
missionaries who attended the Missions Fest were from African countries where it is not
possible for them to imitate the high-tech Kwasizabantu projects. At the end of the talk,
K. Olsen referred to the importance of God's blessing on mission work. Any project, no
matter how good it may seem, is doomed to failure if the Lord Jesus Christ is not at the
very centre of it. In Deut 28 we read how God will bless those who diligently obey His
voice. His blessing will be upon them, their children, their fields, their livestock, etc.
Free CD's with the speech, various powerpoint presentations, and
the book `Revival among the Zulus' by Rev Erlo Stegen, in different languages, was
included on the CD Rom. (If you haven't seen the book and the many languages it is
available in, click here, and scroll down to the bottom)
