Easter Weekend
21 - 23 March 2008

Friday, 11.00 - Rev Heino Stegen preached from Matt 27 and Luke 23. Even in Jesus' suffering He did not think of Himself but saved those who cried to Him for mercy, like the thief on the cross. However those who hardened their hearts in sin were deceived and perished in their sin like Judas Iscariot and many of the religious leaders. [Read the full summary here]

Friday, 15.00 - Nikkie testified to the power of the Gospel that saved her from a wretched life, depression and the occult. She even tried to commit suicide before meeting with Jesus.
Mrs Martha Khwela closed the service with a short devotion from Rom 1:16. We as children of God cannot be ashamed of Him who gave Himself for us freely to redeem us from sin and death. May we be sure that we know the power of the Gospel that sets us free from sin, lest we be of those who only have a form of godliness (2Tim 3:1-5).

Friday, 19.00 - Film on Jesus' suffering and death for us.

Saturday, 10.00 - Rev Joe Newlands took the morning service and preached from Rev 7:9-15 and 1John 1:5-9. We read here that those that are redeemed "washed their robes and made them white in the Blood of the Lamb". We can only be cleansed and washed from our sins if we confess our sin and come into the light. Then we can also have fellowship with our Lord and with one another. He gives us the power to conquer sin.

Saturday, 15.00 - Rev Michael Ngubane preached from Matt 27:46, "And about the ninth hour Jesus cried out with a loud voice, saying, “Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani?” that is, “My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me?”".
God created man in His own image and had sweet fellowship with him in the Garden of Eden. But when man disobeyed God and brought sin and death into the world, God intervened and designed the plan of salvation to redeem man from eternal death. Jesus came to earth with the specific purpose to die in our place, take upon Himself our sin, be separated from God so that we might inherit Eternal Life.
Have you received His Gift of salvation? How will you appear before His judgement throne one day without His Gift? He is awaiting your response. Will you accept His Gift?

Saturday, 19.00 - Film on Jesus' Resurrection and victory over death on the first day of the week.

Sunday, 11.00 - Rev Heino Stegen preached from John 20. Jesus' victory over death transformed the disciples into bold proclaimers of the Gospel until their death. Jesus conquered the grave and removed the sting of death for all those who will trust in Him. (Read more here)
