Evangelism in Mozambique 10
to 15 April 2008
A team of co-workers returned today from Mozambique. They had left
the mission on the 9th of April, stayed overnight with John Powys at Malelane mission, and
continued to Mozambique the next day. The team of 6, led by Michael Ngubane, Thomas
Maphanga and John Powys were mostly with Carlos Vilanculos (a Kwasizabantu co-worker based
in Mozambique). The outreaches went very well and there was also a two day evangelism
outreach to a new area. Although they very seldom make altar calls they felt God leading
them to do so and many people responded. The locals there have asked Carlos to start a
branch of the mission in their area.
John noted that Carlos has made great progress with practical
projects to try and be more self-supporting. He has an irrigation scheme for vegetables
such as cabbages, spinnage, tomatoes and onions. Carlos is also very thankful for the
support he has received from CFT and school-children in Switzerland.
As you may well know, Mozambique is a malaria area and the
co-workers often need to take prophylactic drugs for their trip. During a recent trip made
by Dr Peet Botha, for an Easter Conference in Mozambique, he contracted malaria and was
seriously ill.
