God's word as the foundation for revival

The revival in South Africa grew out of God's word. Where God granted revival, you have still to be led by God's word. You cannot just follow dreams, visions and the gifts of the holy spirit. Everything must be tested with the word of God. Otherwise even things that started right will go wrong.

Jesus referred in his speaking to God's word, which shows us the importance of his word. As our days go by, we christians should reach new spiritual hights and should get closer to God. The person who knows of more spiritual life in his of her past is no longer on the spiritual way.

In my own life I didn’t see revival after ministering for 12 years and I didn’t know what to do. Until I turned to God's word, the bible. The bible is God's word, and he will judge you according to this book. I studied God's word and read about these streams of living water.

A river has certain characters, it can be used to produce energy, can change a desert into green. Than this water is worth something. Any person who is in doubt to be a believer, I consider as still lost. If you are married you know it, nobody needs to tell you. Jesus is much greater than the marriagepartner. I knew I was a believer, but still there were no streams of living water, nothing but a few drops.

Are unstoppable rivers flowing out of your life? The longer you try to stop this river, the stronger it gets. In this respect you cannot rely on someone else and say "in my husbands life these rivers are flowing" or " in the life of my father who is a preacher". Rivers must flow out of your own life.

I realized before the revival broke out, that my preaching was not as living water to those who attended the services. Where the living waters stream, the people around you realize and feel it. If you do want revival you need to listen to God's word and you need to be obedient.

In 1966 we read the bible and I have seen myself in this mirror, we read the bible on our knees, believing it is God speaking to us.

We started our studies in Acts, where we read, "all that Jesus began to do and to teach". People who preach but do not live what they preach are dangerous people If you long for revival you must do what you preach. Where you don’t do this you are a hypocrit. God was speaking to us through his word, while we were busy making our life right, God's spirit came down and granted revival.

God can do much more than what you can think or dream about. There is no limit to what God can do through you. God will come down with his reward. If it is wrong thoughts, idol words or wrong deeds God will reward it. The only way out is to turn to his son. He can grant life in revival power.
