Text : Luke 12,49+50

Jesus is speaking here of the Godly fire within us. He has come on earth to kindle that fire. It is a spiritual elemnt to be filled with that fire, that is a « must » in our life.

Our Christianity is only complete if it is according to the scripture.

You do know whether you are baptised in water already, but has Jesus baptised you with his fire ? Fire has various effects, it gives warmth, it is a power that brings light, it purifies gold and silver. The spiritual Godly fire makes an end of lukewarmness in a persons believe. Jesus is longing for a fire, when he opened his heart to his disciples. That is the fire he wants to bring to the world and his disciples. He was not satisfied with a spark, he longed for the Divine, Godly and consuming fire that drives darkness away, that purifies and sanctifies us.

This Godly fire burns away sin in our life and the love to the world.

I have been with the low and the high, the poor and the rich. I have been at places where the high and lofty meet. All the beauty of this world is nothing more than a soap bubble. It appears colorful in sunshine, but touch it and it disappears. No young people should be attracted and deceived by this world. World friendship, god hates. The world cannot give you a Godly character, only Jesus can do this. Jesus makes you an example in this world, where He dwells in a young person. Therefore do not desire to go to discos, it will spoil your life. Does this Godly fire burn in your bones ?

« How distressed I am until is is completed » This term, used in greek for the word « distressed » has a rich meaning. It is also used in other texts of the new testament. It describes to be encircled or to build a wall. This is how Jesus felt. He felt encircled, pressed and bound. He could not freely move.

Has the Gord still today to say in your life « I can not move ». Jesus can be bound in a persons life like a piece of metal in a vice.

Have you got time for Jesus, you might find time for earnig money and being with your family, but do you have time for Jesus ? Maybe your singing in church is mocking, because you live your own life when you are out of church.

How painful must it be for the sinless, living in a christian who is looking with his eyes at dirty thing of this world.

He wants to come with his divine fire and set you aflame for God.
