Family Weekend - Friday 7pm

Rev Erlo Stegen preached from Gen 1: 24-27 with special emphasis on "God created man in His own image."

The world is crying out for men who are strong in conviction, strong to stand, to lead, strong to stand for the truth.

When God said "in our image" it reveals the mystery when Christ came and through Jesus we understand the mystery revealed - the Triune God! The word used in Hebrew is Elohim which is a plural.

But though we are created in God's image we have fallen and do evil.

There is no freedom without responsibility. God has made the man to bear responsibility and show forth manliness. Freedom is the liberty to do what God expects of you.

1. We learn from the text that God has made man with an immortal spirit for he is in God's immortal image. Though we have similarities with animals we are not the same.

2. We also learn that God has given man the power of moral choices.

3. The text also reveals a law of God: "each according to its kind." You husband may have allowed some hypocrisy or grudges into your life. What you are will be reflected in your children.`If you want moral children then be moral yourself', a secular professor once said. Repent of the things which have influenced your children with evil.

Do you have manliness and authority or have you lost it?

Children and women are crying out for real men who are manly in the Lord.
