Update
22 October:
On their way up through Botswana they had to
digest a bit of a 'meaty' problem. Their 2-weeks supply of raw meat caused no problem at
the Botswana border. But a roadblock somewhat inland insisted that no raw
meat may proceed any further. " 'n Boer maak 'n plan" - the team
turned back, 'braai'ed all the meat in a secluded area, and then continued on
their way trouble-free.
On Friday the team was at an
all-day conference in Katima Mulilo and on Saturday they crossed the border for
a conference at Sisheks in Zambia. John and Tom returned to take a service in
Katima Mulilo on Sunday, while the rest of the team remained for a service in Zambia.
Today, Tuesday, they are leaving the Caprivi and proceeding to Windhoek.
A Kwasizabantu team of eight (Thomas Maphanga, Sibongiseni
Khumalo, John Powys, Gideon Jacobs, Lelani - from Smithfield, Craig Engelbrecht, Tom
Fouche, Pieter van Rensburg - oom Lang Piet's grandson) left on Sunday, 13th October,
for the Caprivi Strip (North Namibia) where they will be conducting services
for one and a half weeks. They will mainly be stationed at Katima
Mulilo. During their stay they will also be going into Zambia to take services
at the refugee camps. On Tuesday, 22nd, the team is to leave Katima
Mulilo for Windhoek, where they will be speaking on a radio broadcast.
From there they are to go to Gobabis until Sunday, 27th. They are
expected home on the 28th October.
