Missionary outreach to the Ukraine

19 - 28 October 2001

The team members were Irene Schlicksupp, Klaus Wunderlich, Klaus Alius and Albert Penner, all coming from Germany.

Friday, 19th ,

We flew from Frankfurt to Lvov, were fetched by car there and drove another 220 km, in the direction of Kiev, to a town called Smiga.

Saturday, 20th ,

From 16:00 to 18:30 an evangelisation campaign was held in the city hall. Klaus Wunderlich spoke from Luke 19:1-10 of Zachaus who had a meeting with the Lord Jesus that changed his life completely.

At 19:00 a youth meeting was held where Klaus Alius spoke from James 4:4. He combined his service with giving his testimony and included the message of „I am not ashamed of the gospel".

Sunday, 21st ,

At 10:00 a thanksgiving service was held in the overcrowded city hall. Klaus Wunderlich spoke on the gift of the word of God from Ephesians and Klaus Alius spoke about the fruit of the Holy Spirit – how we can recognize whether we are children of the Lord.

The word was received in a very good and open way. The evening we spoke about „Jesus at the cross". The people‘s hearts were wide open.

Monday, 22nd

We made various visits and met many seeking people.

In the same village a service was held an 17:00, where Klaus Alius and Klaus Wunderlich spoke on the topic, „The Lord is my shepherd".

Tuesday 23rd

At 17:00 a service was arranged in the neighbouring town, Dubno. We met many people who received the gospel with open hearts. Over and over we were asked to come again.

Wednesday 24th

We had good conversations before our departure. Afterwards we traveled at night by train to Odessa. We arrived at Odessa on Thurday morning.

Thursday 25th

From Odessa we traveled another 140 km to a certain city with 500 000 inhabitants.

On the way to our lodging we were shown the first theological seminary of the free church in the Soviet Union. At 18:00 we had another service from Revelation 3:20. The word was well accepted.

Friday 26th

In the morning people visited us to speak to us. In the afternoon we could conduct a service in the village. Many unbelievers attended this service and we found that their hearts were touched.

Saturday 27th

At 10:00 a thanksgiving service was held where the major and the press were present. The local press was informed about that service beforehand. In the afternoon we visited a poor village in the remote area where we also conducted a service. God reached the hearts of the listener. So far we experienced Gods blessing above what we could expect or ask for.

Sunday 28th

500 people attended the service at 9:00, the church building being full. We experienced God’s grace on this day. The people reacted grateful towards our ministry.

At 16:00 the next service was held in another village where about 100 people came. They asked us to come again and to preach the word to them. At 20:00 we had a service for the young people only.

We want to thank the Lord for his working during this missionary outreach.
