Final Brief report:
The exceptionally blessed Weenen meetings ended on 17 June. Bongani Zondi (one of the team members) reported that the hall was full of people virtually every night and by the second night there was a breakthrough and people began to repent. Some of the audience were quite wild, smoking in the services and under the influence of dagga (marijuana).
During the day 15 schools were visited as well as 7 farms and 2 clinics.
Some of the preaching themes included: Luke 2:10 - `The Good News'; Luke 19:29 - `The Lord has need of you'; and Rev 1:12 - `John's vision of Jesus'.

The converts have begged the co-workers to establish a church there. For the time being the arrangement has been to hold a service in the community hall every Sunday.

Original report

Services are being held in a very poor area of Weenen. The local community hall has been packed every night as Kwasizabantu co-workers bring them the Gospel. The services, which began 2 June 2001, are still continuing because of the great need.

By the second night about 80% of the audience consisted of men and boys, an exception for Zulu church services where women and children are usually in the majority.

Reports coming in are that the Lord has brought about an exceptional conviction of sin and murderers and thieves are coming to Christ. Some have started bring articles to be burnt.

Jabulani Dube, Wilfred Mabizela and Bongani Zondi are ministering together with 5 lady co-workers. Because Weenen is only about 120 km from Kwasizabantu, other co-workers are also sent to help. On Thursday last week the Kwasizabantu Choir was able to attend some meetings.

During the day there are many opportunities to preach in local schools.

Co-workers report that there is dire poverty and hunger. Many of the local inhabitants resort to stealing from local farms. Some plant only dagga (marijuana) in their fields.

Please pray that the Lord would continue to bless the whole area and that the new converts would go deep with the Lord.
