KSB Youth Conference 2001

What must you do to inherit eternal life? This question is asked by numerous people. Firstly, let us note the following:

• Eternal life is a free gift - it is inherited.
• Jesus agreed with his answer: You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, strength and mind and your neighbour as yourself

When you take God's Word, first pray that God would open His Word and speak to you. Let God's Word be a mirror to you. Do not allow anyone to separate you from God's Word. Keep it in your heart. Shut yourself in with His Word. Let His Word be sweeter than honey to your soul, for you cannot live without it. Feed yourself with God's Word day and night. Be filled with His Word, that you might grow and teach others also to do and keep His Word.

Let Jesus be the center of your life, and not the things of the world, like the opposite sex, pleasure, etc.

When you love someone dearly, you will do anything for that person. Take for example your mother. If you think of what she has done for you since you were born, and you love her as you ought, what would you do when someone speaks bad of her? You will defend her. And you yourself will see to it that you don't do anything to hurt or offend her. And this is but a feeble example of how your love to the Lord should be. He gave you not only physical life, but eternal life, if you have been born again. Can you still do anything that would hurt Him?

Remember the parable of the precious stone in the field and how that man sold all that he had to buy that field and obtain that precious stone. Jesus is that precious stone. Have you sold all for Him? And when you have that stone, keep it with your life and never lose it. If you allow sin to enter into your life, you will surely lose it.

And then lastly, love your neighbour as yourself. Be the servant of all. Be as Jesus who forsook the splendour of heaven and came to this earth out of His great love to save us from sin. And He humbled Himself even more, and became obedient unto death. He was the servant of all. Before He ascended up into heaven, he sent us too, just as He was sent by His Father. Let us therefore do and keep His Word and teach others to do the same.
