Sunday evening, 9 December 2001 - Rev J Chauke Rom 14:12 : "So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God" Everything that is done in secret will be revealed by God. Just see how God did not reveal the secrets of those that tried to hide their sins. Just think of Agan. He stole those treasures out of Jericho. But in time God revealed his secret and he paid with his life. Saul thought that he had hid the precious things of the Amalekites well, when God told him to utterly destroy them. However, his secret was short-lived. God revealed his sin and removed him as king of Israel. Gehazi thought his secret of lies was well hid, but God revealed it through Elisha, and he was struck with leprosy. Ananias and Sapphirah lied to the Holy Ghost, and was struck dead for their sin. With all of these their sin was revealed already while they were on earth, but all things will be revealed on Judgement Day, when each one will have to give account to God of himself. And all of us will appear alone before God and give account of our lives. When you have to do an assignment for the school, your parents, preacher, or anyone else cannot do it for you. You have to do it alone. And so too, when you stand before God, you will have to give account alone. Now Jesus is our advocate before God. Now His blood can wash away our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness, but on the Judgement Day He will be our Judge. Make sure that He has cleansed you with His blood and that your life stays clean. |
