Ezekiel 18:30 – 32
30 “Therefore, you Israelites, I will judge each of you according to your own ways, declares the Sovereign Lord. Repent! Turn away from all your offenses; then sin will not be your downfall. 31 Rid yourselves of all the offenses you have committed, and get a new heart and a new spirit. Why will you die, people of Israel? 32 For I take no pleasure in the death of anyone, declares the Sovereign Lord. Repent and live!”
Sin makes you sick. You can’t be as you should be if sin’s poison enters your body spiritually – you become lame spiritually. We heard these days of those who are redeemed and did not defile themselves. We heard of those who kept themselves pure. Have you let Jesus cleanse you these days?
While you are here on earth, you should have a longing to look up and say, “Lord I want to experience fellowship with You”. Do not persist in your blindness and carelessness. But you only see what man does to you and not what you do against yourself. You don’t want to know His care for you. You just look at man and what man does to you. You block His way and turn your face from Him. Turn away from all your offences. If you do it, you will see God’s grace. Don’t say God is unjust and people are unjust to me. Once you cry over your sin and your heart is broken over your own sin you will experience the kindness of God. Are you sorry for the sin you did? Doesn’t your mind say, “If only I hadn’t done it. My conscience is defiled and don’t know how to get pure again. I wish I hadn’t spoken those words. I didn’t honour my parents.”
A lady came to Uncle Friedel and asked,”Can God raise the dead? Can the Lord raise my husband from the grave? If only I had one day more with him, I would treat him as a wife should treat a husband and be a help to him.” Young man, young woman, do you have regrets? Only the pure Lamb of God can wash away your guilt. Today you still have the opportunity. Get rid of the sickness of sin. Say, “Lord, I need a new heart and mind.” He will do the transformation in your life. Are you numbered amongst those who are redeemed by the Lamb?
