Visit of pastor John
Carrol from Sydney, Australia to KwaSizabantu Mission

Pastor Carrol took the service on Tuesday, June 04, 2002, and will
be leaving again on Thursday, June 06. He preached from Luke 15:8-10, and then gave his
testimony of how the Lord turned him from unbelief and atheism to serve Him alone. He
heard of the Lord's working at KwaSizabantu through a New Zealand Bible study friend, and
came to see for himself. He was greatly encouraged by what he heard and saw, especially in
the similar ways the Holy Spirit works all over the world, although he didnt know
about KwaSizabantu at the time. After he turned to the Lord, he was led to deal with his
sins one by one, confessing, forsaking and making restitution. Also in his growth as a
Christian, a clean life, with no known thing between you and the Lord, was the key to
victory and growth. Today he is the assistant pastor of a large church in Australia.
Luke 15:8 - 10:
8 Either what woman having ten pieces of silver, if she lose one
piece, doth not light a candle, and sweep the house, and seek diligently till she find it?
9 And when she hath found it, she calleth her friends and her
neighbours together, saying, Rejoice with me; for I have found the piece which I had lost.
10 Likewise, I say unto you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one
sinner that repenteth.
In Luke 15 we see how Jesus compares a silver coin (about a
days wage) to a human soul. Just as that woman lights a lamp, and searches till she
finds the lost coin, so too the Son of man lights His lamp, which is His Word, to seek and
to save lost souls. Jesus makes it clear that one human soul is worth more than the entire
worlds riches, for He says in Mt 16:26,
"For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole
world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?"
In Gods balances one human soul weighs more than the entire
world with its riches, and yet, a single days wage paid that price. Two thousand
years ago on Calvary, the Lamb of God paid the price for your and my soul.
Just as this woman sweeps the house to find the one lost coin, so
too God sweeps through this world to move lost souls out of their hiding places. God might
do it through circumstances and trials that come across our path.
This silver coin can also be compared to spiritual riches that God
has for His children. As God cleanses out our life from sin, we become more and more
useful in His Kingdom. |
