The mission teacher’s training college, CCE, had it’s 15th graduation on Friday, 23 March 2012. (see programme)
There were 6 North-West University academics who participated.
Professor Herman van Schalkwyk, Rector of North-West University in Potchefstroom, was the main speaker. He also gave the history of NWU which began in 1869 with 5 students and 2 lecturers. Now it is a multi-campus university with 50,000 students. Last year over 11,000 degrees were given. “We honour this partnership between NWU and CCE”, and “teaching is a vocation, a calling…”, said Prof van Schalkwyk.
