Peace Came into My Heart

I was 11 years old when I met people from the Mission, first overseas (in Germany) and then 2 years later in South Africa (1998). I was a very shy and scared person, extremely introvert, unsure about myself and unhappy.

The moment I met the people on the Mission, I felt love and acceptance, it was something unforgettable to me as a young child. The people had shining faces and a deep peace within, everybody just covered me in love and happiness and accepted me how I was, I felt so special.
God took away the fear and insecurity and I became an open and happy person. The peace that came into my heart is beyond all understanding, and nowhere else in this world have I seen such a place as KwaSizabantu Mission.
Nobody forced me to confess my sins or told me how I must behave and dress, it was God that showed me through the Gospel and His Word. Since 2004 I have been staying full time on the Mission.

I got married in 2011 and in all my dreams I could have not wished for a better husband, we have 4 children together, and 2 of them are already part of DSS. I am forever grateful that our children can go to a Christian school, as this was my wish for myself, when I was a little girl, but I never got the chance of attending one myself. It’s amazing for me to see how our school operates and how much the teachers do for the children. From sport events, art competitions, educational olympiads, poem evenings etc, but above all how they teach the children about God. Our children come back very happy from school. Thank you very much for that.

I would also like to thank Reverend Stegen for his selfless life and example and wish that God would continue to richly bless him and this work.
