19 “My dear children, for whom I am again in the pains of childbirth until Christ is formed in you.”
I labour in birth until Christ is born in your life. Christ has to be born in me. It will change our lives. Then we will be like Him and have His nature within us. It will revolutionise our lives if He is born in our lives.
11 He came to that which was his own, but his own did not receive him.
Jesus came to his own people but they did not receive Him. He was born in Bethlehem. The shepherds and others came to see him but the people in Bethlehem did not receive him. Jesus was right in their midst and they carried on with their lives and they did not accept Him.
18 And all they that heard it wondered at those things which were told them by the shepherds.
The shepherds did go to see Jesus. In Luke 2 v 18 it says and all who heard it were amazed at what the shepherds said to them. The people of Bethlehem did not recognise Jesus but the shepherds received the news from the angels. I was reminded of shepherds in Europe. They have a big coat and every thing they have they carry on their backs; even their pots and pans. The shepherds were despised by other people but when they received this great revelation, they went and told others about it and everyone who heard it were amazed by what they said.
