“When the Lion Roars”

Exodus 4

31 And the people believed: and when they heard that the LORD had visited the children of Israel, and that he had looked upon their affliction, then they bowed their heads and worshipped.

When Pharaoh heard that they wanted to leave he increased their bondage. The devil is like a roaring lion that wants to devour God’s children. Before when they were in bondage he didn’t bother, but when Moses wanted to lead them our he arose and roared and tried to keep them and make their bondage worse.

So too you will find that as long as you serve the devil he leaves you alone and things might even look to be going your way, but the moment you try to leave his kingdom he stirs himself and roars and try his utmost to keep you as his prey.

Our attitude should not be like the children of Israel who started blaming Moses and Aaron for their hard labour and couldn’t believe anymore.

The Bible says that the one that perseveres will receive the crown of life. Don’t give up when you meet up with difficulties but look up to God for deliverance. Often the fiercest storms bring the most beautiful days afterwards.

If you want a comfortable life the roaring lion will sit with you on the couch and lick you and you won’t even realise his intention. But the day you want to get up and do something and make your life right, that lion will roar and not allow his prey to go but do his utmost to keep you in your sin.

The children of Israel also wanted to return to Egypt after they were delivered but when things got difficult. They didn’t realise how that the bondage in Egypt were destroying them.

If you were set free and then return to your previous sins, they will destroy you quickly, like your anger, pornography, evil desires, slander etc.

Isaiah 57

15 For thus saith the high and lofty One that inhabiteth eternity, whose name is Holy; I dwell in the high and holy place, with him also that is of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones.

If you want to be helped and saved from this life of bondage this verse gives the key.
If you come in humility to Christ and cry to Him to help you, that roaring lion has no more power over you.

But we must come to Him with a humble, contrite heart, being truly sorry for what we have done. Then God will be with us and save us from the roaring lion and set the captives free.

If there is something displeasing to God in your life, bring it to the light and kill it through the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ.
