God’s blessing and curse

(Youth conference, December 2016; John 7:38 “Whoever believes in Me, as Scripture has said, rivers of living water will flow from within them”)

Heb 13:4
Marriage is honourable in all, and the bed undefiled: but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge.

The whole world should know this text, for we live in an era of sexual immorality. It’s no wonder that God is pouring out His wrath on the earth by all the STDs around us.

Many parents think their children are wonderful and upright, but they bluff themselves.

It’s said that in SA more than 50% will die of AIDS related diseases over the next decade. ARVs are available to help you live longer but the disease is still in you.

The Bible says in the last days it will be an evil time, seven girls chasing after one man!

You might be happy about that young man but don’t realise that you’re only adding to the viral load in your body. Even though you receive medicine it only makes the virus dormant. The sickness is still in you.

See to it that you dress properly and decently. Ladies it’s a disgrace if you dress in such a way that when you sit or bend men see your underwear. It only shows your character, what type of person you are. It shows that you’re a cheap woman, a harlot.

Girl you might be proud that boys follow you but it’s like flies attracted to dung. It’s not something to be proud of.
The Bible says that young people must be an example. Pray that this curse might be removed from you if you’ve lived such an immoral life.

We read in Luke 19 of Zacchaeus climbing a tree to see Jesus. He had a high position, but was unashamed to lose his dignity, to see Jesus.

Luke 19:1-10
1 And Jesus entered and passed through Jericho.
2 And, behold, there was a man named Zacchaeus, which was the chief among the publicans, and he was rich.
3 And he sought to see Jesus who he was; and could not for the press, because he was little of stature.
4 And he ran before, and climbed up into a sycomore tree to see him: for he was to pass that way.
5 And when Jesus came to the place, he looked up, and saw him, and said unto him, Zacchaeus, make haste, and come down; for to day I must abide at thy house.
6 And he made haste, and came down, and received him joyfully.
7 And when they saw it, they all murmured, saying, That he was gone to be guest with a man that is a sinner.
8 And Zacchaeus stood, and said unto the Lord; Behold, Lord, the half of my goods I give to the poor; and if I have taken any thing from any man by false accusation, I restore him fourfold.
9 And Jesus said unto him, This day is salvation come to this house, forsomuch as he also is a son of Abraham.
10 For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.

Do you see what someone is like who repents? He was of small stature but had a high position. He had no regard to his position for he wanted to see Jesus. And he repented thoroughly and made restitution.

In the days of Joshua when they conquered Jericho, Joshua pronounced a curse upon Jericho, that the person that rebuilds the city, his firstborn son will die when the walls are built and his lastborn when the gates are put up. 635 years later someone did rebuild Jericho, and as Joshua had spoken his firstborn died while he built the walls and his lastborn when the gates were put up. (1Kings 16:34, “In his days did Hiel the Bethelite build Jericho: he laid the foundation thereof in Abiram his firstborn, and set up the gates thereof in his youngest son Segub, according to the word of the LORD, which he spake by Joshua the son of Nun.”)
This is to illustrate what a curse is.

So too you will be cursed with disease if you live an immoral life. And if you laugh and mock at this word that curse will follow you too.

Woe to you if you stole without returning it and making it right. God is no respecter of persons whether you’re white or black. If you don’t part with your sin, confess and forsake it, God’s curse will rest on you.
