“As Sweet as Honey”

1 Corinthians 10

4 … and all drank the same spiritual drink. For they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them, and that Rock was Christ

Deuteronomy 32

13 He made him ride in the heights of the earth, that he might eat the produce of the fields; He made him draw honey from the rock, and oil from the flinty rock;

Israel drank from that Rock in the wilderness, Christ Jesus.

It is wonderful when we realise that God wants to nourish us with honey. Moses sang the song how the Lord nourished Jacob with honey from that Rock.

Honey is sweet. It should be the sweetest thing a Christian can experience to be nourished from the honey of the Rock. Everyone will benefit from being in your presence. That which comes out of you after being nourished by the Rock, will be sweet as honey.

It’s good that we ask ourselves whether what proceed from my life is as sweet as honey. Those with whom I live each day will benefit from that sweetness, which is Christ in me.

Does your presence bring peace and happiness or does it bring strife and fighting?

People watch the way we act and judge us accordingly. This is important that if we call ourselves Christians we should watch the way we walk and talk.

It is heartbreaking if we call ourselves Christians and do not live it – if we fight, cheat, slander etc., and we still call ourselves Christians!

In 2Sa 22:1-3, we read of the song David sang to the Lord in the day that He delivered him. Do you take refuge in Him? If you are in Him nobody can harm you. Just see to it that you stay in Jesus. He must be your strength. He must be your shield. No matter what comes your way, then you will have full confidence in Him Who keeps you. He must be your stronghold.

If that would be your life, it would be clear to all that you are full of strength, courage, peace etc.

He must be your Saviour. Has He saved you from your sins?

If you know there’s still things wrong in your life cry to Him to save you. It was wonderful when a young man came to me not long ago saying he wanted to be saved from his old life. He said he was sick and tired of his sins and cannot help himself. He cried before the Lord and confessed his sins.

In Ps 78:16 we read that He gives you streams of Living Water if you would only ask Him.

It would be good if each one asks himself, “is streams of Living Water gushing from my innermost being?”

Our lives must nourish other lives who are in need.

South Africa needs saved Christians. They need Living Water.
God is challenging us to come to Him and drink of that Living Water.

God has created you for a purpose. He wants to glorify Himself through you. He wants to change you to be a blessing wherever you go.
