“His Coming”

Luke 24

50 And he led them out as far as to Bethany, and he lifted up his hands, and blessed them.

51 And it came to pass, while he blessed them, he was parted from them, and carried up into heaven.

Acts 1

11 Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven.

With Christmas, Christians also remind themselves of the advent – the coming of Christ into this world. This is a time of humbling oneself and testing oneself whether you’re still in the faith. From 2Tim 3:16 we see that all scripture is God-breathed, and useful to teach, rebuke, correct, and training in righteousness. The Bible confirms to us the second coming of Christ.

What is witholding Christ’s coming? In 2 Thes 2:1 – 12 we see that the lawless one is coming in rebellion, opposing everything worshipped and setting himself up as God. The Lord will overthrow him with the breath of His mouth and the splendour of His coming. The antichrist spirit is already at work in the world. He is a religious person. One finds that the greatest opponents of God’s work are those who heard the Word and turned their backs on it.

This spirit divides into two camps.

The first is the body of Christ. Those that are allowing the Word of God to cleanse and purify them, are being made part of this body of Christ. They are chosen out of the world.
The second is the body of the antichrist. They are the ones who did not believe and receive the truth they heard, that they might be saved. Then God sends them delusion and they are part of the body of the antichrist.

To which body do you belong? Will you be left behind when Christ comes again, or meet Him in the skies?
