It is time to seek the Lord

Isaiah 55:6-7

6 Make search for the Lord while he is there, make prayer to him while he is near:
7 Let the sinner give up his way, and the evil-doer his purpose: and let him come back to the Lord, and he will have mercy on him; and to our God, for there is full forgiveness with him.

CT Studd said an amazing thing, when he once observed that many of the coworkers that were preaching and working with him were as sharp as a razor before they got married, but lost their edge for God afterwards. If a man claims to have heard from God to marry but afterwards loses his fire for Jesus and lost souls it is questionable whether he’s ever heard from God at all. CT Studd said that those that marry should be especially on fire for God, even more before. Husbands and wives should build each other up in the ways of the Lord, that they burn for the Lord more than ever before.

Our text says that we should seek the Lord while He may be found. Things are dark in this world. When CT Studd was criticized for leaving his family behind in England to go to Africa where he was likely to die because of his health, he replied, ‘If Jesus Christ be God and died for me, then no sacrifice can be too great for me to make for Him.’
