“Obedience”

God desires obedience more than sacrifice. If you have life God will even give you more light on this.

Children who are taught to work at home usually make a success in life. Don’t say, “we have preachers and they will teach my children”. No, God gave them into your hand. You teach them God’s way.

Children, the way you treat your parents, honour and respect them, one day it will be your reward with your children that they honour and respect you. So too if you disrespect your parents and don’t honour them. You will bear the consequences if you don’t honour your parents.

Acts 5

32 And we are his witnesses of these things; and so is also the Holy Ghost, whom God hath given to them that obey him.

God bestows His Holy Spirit to those who obey Him.

Maybe God speaks to you about a certain matter to bring it to the light but you simply play around with it. Then you won’t receive His Holy Spirit, while you’re disobedient.

Obedience doesn’t start when you’re 50 or 40 or even 10. It starts even at a few months. It starts with the mother. If she always knows better while carrying the child, she instills that spirit into her child.

Why did the devil attack Eve? Yes, she was the weaker vessel. But the wife is also the backbone of the family. And if the devil wants to enter the family he knows that if he gets the wife he could get the family.

How can you be obedient to God if you’re not obedient at home. If you are cheeky to your mother and just answer her in any way you are stabbing your mother.

Spurgeon said, “when a boy is rebellious at home, apply discipline properly the first time that there’s no need for a second. Then afterwards you may teach him what you need”.

“There were once a mother with two boys. Nobody controlled them and they just went along the broad way. A stick or two worn out on them while they were young would have been a good use of timber.”

Bishop Rose said, “just as strict as you are on your children, you need to be on yourself”.

Acts 6

5 And the saying pleased the whole multitude: and they chose Stephen, a man full of faith and of the Holy Ghost, and Philip, and Prochorus, and Nicanor, and Timon, and Parmenas, and Nicolas a proselyte of Antioch:

That is the qualification God looks for among us – people who are filled by the Holy Spirit.

Is that what your life is like?

Are you earnestly desiring the Lord, or don’t you care?
