Matthew 2
Today is the last day of this year and we remember the birth of the Lord Jesus and the closing of the year.
We read that the angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph and warned him to flee to Egypt because Herod wanted to kill the child. After Herod was dead the angel appeared to Joseph again and told him to return to Israel and he returned.
When Jesus had come satan wanted to destroy Him immediately. If you have received the Lord Jesus, satan would want to destroy the Christ-child in your life. Even while you still rejoice about salvation, still satan is near by, wanting to destroy Jesus. That’s why you must watch and pray.
We can thank God for a man like Joseph who could obey when God spoke, and a girl like Mary who was pure, lived a holy life and was available to God to do with her as He pleased.
It teaches us that if you’re not faithful to the Lord, countless others will suffer too and be damned because of your disobedience.
By your obedience and faithfulness many can be blessed and by your disobedience and unfaithfulness many can be harmed and damned.
