“Separated Unto the Gospel”

Jonah 1

1 Now the word of the Lord came unto Jonah the son of Amittai, saying,

2 Arise, go to Nineveh, that great city, and cry against it; for their wickedness is come up before me.

3 But Jonah rose up to flee unto Tarshish from the presence of the Lord, and went down to Joppa; and he found a ship going to Tarshish: so he paid the fare thereof, and went down into it, to go with them unto Tarshish from the presence of the Lord.

Jonah was a prophet of God – a bearer of God’s message. Who made him a prophet? Who makes men or women to be bearers of God’s message? Who can make you the bearer of hope and salvation? It is only the One who came down from Heaven, who died on the cross and rose again, and made us and imparted to us the breath of life. He is the One who owns our souls. We do not belong to ourselves.

It is wonderful and marvelous that the Word of God should come to us humans. Praise God for men who experience God speaking to them. They have a message from God through their lives and on their tongue.
Examine yourself whether the Word of God has come to you. And if God has spoken to you, what did you do concerning that? Maybe you can only testify of a time 5, 10 or 50 years ago when God worked in your life and spoken to you. But it is all quiet today because you did not obey Him when He spoke to you.

You may even be so busy in God’s work that you no longer hear the Lord’s voice.

Read Deut 28 and listen to the blessings that follow the man that obeys God’s commands – His Word. And carry on reading and see what will be the lot of one who disregards God’s Word. Start to obey God’s Word before it’s too late and you have regrets.

Glorify God through your life and your body. Be a shining star for Christ to whom you belong.

May you have spiritual binoculars to see your aim and do not allow yourself to be side-tracked from the goal. If you look through His binoculars you see everything in the right perspective.

And if you have made mistakes in the past by not looking at things in the right perspective allow Christ today to cleanse you and change your life to see things in the right perspective.

And He will change that heart that was so easily enticed by sin. He will change that hard heart that was dead towards God. He gives full salvation.

When the Gospel comes into your life it changes your life. You do not love the world anymore but love the people of God. When He changes your life He even changes the way that you talk.

If you want to experience God’s grace and mercy, take heed to obey Him. This is a matter of life and death. Choose life.
