1 Peter

Christ my precious cornerstone

This sermon uses Isaiah 8:14 to discuss Christ as the cornerstone of faith, emphasizing a personal relationship with Him as crucial for forgiveness and overcoming sin. The preacher uses various examples, including a group of communists finding faith and a woman deceiving her counselor, to illustrate how the heart’s deceitfulness can cause Christ to become a stumbling block if not addressed through humility and a commitment to living a life pleasing to God.

Clothe yourselves with humility

The speaker discusses the difficulty of seeing God’s hand in life’s events, using the example of Jesus’ birth followed by Herod’s massacre and the ongoing struggles of Israel. They argue that sin, pride, and a failure to cast anxieties on God prevent recognizing His presence, even in hardship, emphasizing humility and reliance on God as crucial for a faith-filled 2024.
