“Do You Want to Be Freed?”

1 Peter 1

18 For you know that it was not with perishable things such as silver or gold that you were redeemed from the empty way of life handed down to you from your forefathers,

19 but with the precious blood of Christ…

Some people just seem to be happy sitting in their sin, enjoying their bondage. Is this you? You don’t even want to be delivered, you don’t care.

Jesus died in anguish for you and it means nothing to you. A witch came at the beginning of the revival wanting to know if Jesus could set her free. When she had confessed her sins she was prayed for and 300 demons came out of her barking like dogs, grunting like pigs and speaking foreign languages. Then she was free.

Some people are honest and admit they are bad people having done awful crimes- such people can be set free. Those who harbour sin will die like that- they would still like to murder those who have wronged them- they deserve hell. Some people are pardoned but refuse to accept it, well, they annul their pardon and they also deserve to die in their sin.

If you know the gospel and still reject it you truly deserve hell.

Many prisoners in South Africa have been granted amnesty recently but within hours or days some were back in jail having committed horrendous crimes once more. They blamed it on poverty, boredom and hard luck.

Jesus denied himself and didn’t even have a place to lay his head while here on earth. His blood bought you. He paid the price to set you free.
