“Give Him full access”

The Lord Jesus said, ‘I cannot do anything without My Father’ (John 5:19).
If we as children have learned that with our earthly parents, we would also do it with our Heavenly Father.

Rev 3

14 And unto the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write; These things saith the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of God;

15 I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot.

16 So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.

17 Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked:

18 I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see.

19 As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent.

20 Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.

21 To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne.

22 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.

Jesus spoke to the church when He said, ‘behold I stand at the door and knock’. Forget for a moment that you know this word so well, and take it as if you hear it for the first time.

Jesus pointed out their problem immediately and He gave them the solution. It’s not easy to be told your faults, but the victory when you accept the correction is marvelous. Recognize that He stands at your door.

Here He points out that they’re lukewarm. They’ve allowed something to enter which distracts their attention from Him and Jesus said that if they continue with that thing and do not repent, “I’ll spue you out of My mouth”. Here we see how serious the matter is. He doesn’t want you to serve Him while being lukewarm. Either be cold, not serving Him at all, or hot, but being lukewarm makes Him sick.

When the heart of a child is wrong the child is corrected, it either denies it or accuses others. It cannot simply accept correction. But a child on fire for God accepts correction. Such a child improves by accepting help. The other stagnates. Stagnant water brings forth a stench.

When something, not from God, comes into our lives, we start to see things different to how God sees them. That’s why God shakes our lives, because He knows that when we listen, then something beautiful will come out of it. But may we listen to Him even before He has to shake us.

He offers you pure gold if you come to Him. He offers you a pure life. Do you believe Him?

He says that you don’t have because you don’t ask. When last have you asked your Heavenly Father for His riches? He is only waiting for you to ask Him.

If your life is not cleansed, you won’t be able to see properly, just as you cannot see clearly through a dirty windscreen. Maybe that’s why you make so many mistakes, because you cannot see clearly.

A house has many doors inside too. Have you opened all the doors and given Him full access to everything? One room is where we deal with our children. Have you given your children to Him? Another room is your finances. Have you given that to Him?

You can think of different rooms in your life that is difficult to open, but the day you do it, and allow Jesus full access, He transforms you in that area.
