“God’s Opinion of You”

Job 1

6 Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the Lord, and Satan[a] also came among them. 7 And the Lord said to Satan, “From where do you come?”

So Satan answered the Lord and said, “From going to and fro on the earth, and from walking back and forth on it.”

8 Then the Lord said to Satan, “Have you considered My servant Job, that there is none like him on the earth, a blameless and upright man, one who fears God and shuns evil?”

9 So Satan answered the Lord and said, “Does Job fear God for nothing?

God does as He wants. We are insignificant even if we think we are important. God knows how nothing we are and that only He can save a person. The heart of man is desperately wicked and the Lord Jesus came to save us from an evil heart and to cleanse us from evil.

In Job 1 v 6-9 there is the phrase “have you seen my servant Job?” Satan was also there among the sons of God. What can God say about us? Are we blameless, having integrity and moral uprightness. What is God’s opinion of you?

There must be nothing between you and God and you must hate evil. If you fear the Lord, you will depart from evil. The fear of God is to hate evil, hating sin and never going back to it again. Joseph feared God and fled from Potiphar’s wife even though sin was presented in a beautiful way. Satan is a conquered enemy but we still have to fight him.

Noah was righteous amongst a perverse generation and Lot was oppressed by the wicked around him. But they stood victorious in temptation.

May we experience what it means for God to “save to the uttermost”.

We must shun evil and bring glory to the Lord Jesus who shed His blood to cleanse us.
