“The Spirit and the Bride Say, ‘Come'”

Revelation 22

17 And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely.

The Spirit here refers to the Holy Spirit and the Bride to the Bride of Christ, those bought and redeemed by the Blood of the Lord Jesus. Each child of God should be filled by the Holy Spirit and do and say as the Holy Spirit leads.

If you’ve drunk of this water of Life and your thirst was quenched, you cannot but invite others to this Living Fount. For a true Christian it is not a private matter.

This evening you must examine yourself in the light of God’s Word whether you live according to His Word and long for His return. His return is the greatest day in the life of any child of God. If you are inspired by the Holy Spirit He will teach you to long and pray for that Day when He will return. Children can hardly wait for Christmas when they will receive presents, and a true Christian longs much more for the Day when Jesus will return. If you don’t long for the day when your Lord will return there is something wrong with your spiritual life.

Some might be troubled that more than 2000 years have passed since Jesus was born, but that doesn’t trouble us. The Bible says that a 1000 years is like a day to God, and these words were recorded even less than 2000 years ago; so to God it’s even less than the day before yesterday.

However, Jesus might meet you by your death. He doesn’t say in which way He will be coming to you, but His coming is imminent. You know what the past year was like, and whether you worked faithfully for your Lord. Prepare yourself in this New Year so that you will be ready to meet Him.
