A team of helpers, young and older, eagerly journeyed from KZN to join the team at KwaSizabantu Mission’s branch in Virginia, Free State, for the annual youth conference which took place from 26 to 29 March. More than 2 000 young people attended the event, mostly from local schools.

The familiar blue and white tent was set up once more. It faithfully sheltered the crowd that gathered three times a day as sunshine and rain came in turns. Yet through it all, God was good and the gospel seed was sown. He can be trusted to water that seed.

Many of the young people spoke of having no mother, no father and no sense of security. They revealed lives marked by confusion, emptiness and a lack of direction. The services pointed them to their heavenly Father, the One who sees every need and who never turns away a seeking heart.

Working in teams made the event a breeze. A faithful group stood by the large steam pots, while another cooked over three-legged cast iron pots with fires beneath. A diligent team spent hours preparing and keeping rooms clean. From the electrical crew to streaming team, registration, cleaning and first-aid, every effort was offered as unto God so the weekend could run smoothly.

God provided in every way. There were enough helpers, enough food, enough strength for each task and a peaceful unity that carried us through the conference. The contagious joy of working together for God's kingdom made for a wonderful event. Nothing is too much or too hard when we have the attitude of Jesus Christ, who left the 99 for one lost sheep.
