Blessing through the Generations

Blessing through the Generations

My testimony starts with my grandparents in 1979. My grandmother was institutionalized with a mental condition. My grandfather then heard about Kwasizabantu mission and that many people got helped there. Reluctantly, the doctor allowed my grandfather to take her there. Kwasizabantu mission accepted my grandmother just the way she was. After their return, the doctor informed my grandfather that she had completely recovered, and that she had never a patient diagnosed with such a condition to recover, and it was in her opinion, a miracle! This miracle changed the course of our family for generations to come.

My grandparents and parents then started visiting the mission even though it was more than 13 hours drive from their farm. My grandfather's life changed dramatically, and it was really the examples of the people's lives on the mission that made such an impact on him. Here they did not just preach the gospel of the Bible but they lived it! He was baffled by the friendliness and true love of the various races that lived together on the mission. Their work ethic impressed him, and it convicted him of the sins in his own life. Back at home, everyone could clearly see the dramatic change in my grandparents. My grandfather became a lay pastor, spreading this gospel of a victory over sin and a victorious life. The impact transcended to my parents, whose lives also changed because of the Gospel.

Unfortunately during my high school years, I became involved in wrong things - parties with alcohol, cigarettes, music, and girlfriends seemed more exciting than the life my parents showed me. After school with my independence, I could now really enjoy my life (or so I thought). This became a rat race from one party to the next and from one drug to the next but there was no satisfaction and there was no peace. Eventually, I lost my job at our family business and really started spiraling down. I soon found myself at my wits end. It was then that I was reminded of the place that I used to visit with my parents, Kwasizabantu Mission. Now that I was not enjoying any of the things that I thought would bring me excitement and joy, the messages and services I had heard at Kwasizabantu came back to me and I knew what I had to do to be set free from my addictions and burden of sin. With the grace of God and the prayer of righteous men, I received healing and was set free from all my sin. What joy and peace at last!

Some years later, I was blessed to get married to the girl whom the Lord pointed out to me. This blessing is now transcending to our 4 children who can live in a home of peace and unity where we live in a family as intended by God before Him. We now have the opportunity to show them that there is such a thing as a victorious life, free from the burden of sin and there is such a thing as a marriage where there is unity, respect, and love.

The truth received through the preaching of Reverend Erlo Stegen of Kwasizabantu Mission has blessed my family and healed our souls. May it be that their children and their children's children will continue to receive the blessing brought by the message of Christ's redemption, proclaimed by Kwasizabantu Mission.

This Gospel is a Solid Rock

I could write a book of all the blessings I have received through Kwasizabantu Mission.

My beginning was with my parents. Their marriage was in a mess and they were so unhappy. When they were introduced to Kwasizabantu Mission, this all changed. I have such fond memories of growing up in a stable and loving home.

We visited the mission regularly and I often stayed there with various families, sometimes for weeks or even months. Someone I hold close to my heart is one of the choir members, Aunt Thembi. When we travelled from Joburg and arrived at the mission, I would grab my suitcase and be off to Aunt Thembi's room. There was always a bed ready for me and under my pillow would be some swiss chocolate. Above her bed she had a picture of me and she explained to me that she prays for me every day. The love and kindness of this Aunty, had a lasting impact on my life and I treasure it up to this day.

However it was when I turned 19, that the Lord opened my eyes to the treasure of the gospel that I had been hearing for so many years. I was looking for happiness in everything around me but no matter how hard I tried to enjoy life, I had no joy but rather a deep sense of being lost and no direction. Without anyone prompting me, I wrote page after page of all the things that I did wrong that I was aware of. My parents just watched in amazement, supported and helped me. For months I cleansed my life. A counsellor at Kwasizabantu Mission prayed with me and encouraged me. This was such a help to me. I had a need and I was determined to persevere until the Lord helped me. Then a miracle took place. I woke up one morning and felt an overwhelming peace that flooded my heart. My life completely changed at this point. It is impossible to describe the before and after. Only I know what bondage I experienced and what freedom the Lord gave me.

After some time, a young man asked for my hand in marriage. The Lord made it clear to me that it was the right person and I had complete reassurance that it was God who brought us together. We have been blessed with 4 children I can only marvel at the beauty and satisfaction of our marriage and the peace in our home. The Lord has guided us through many trials and never let us down. Each year that passes, I become more aware of God's purpose for bringing us together. I am undeserving of such a blessed marriage. All I can say is that to get married in purity and to the one God chooses for you, is worth it!!!!

I am now 34 and in the last 5 years, I have experienced even greater wonders in my life than that which I describe above. I have learnt what it is to literally live life to the full. This gospel is a solid rock and I am so thankful that the leaders have continued in the way the Lord revealed to them from the very beginning. The Lord changed me through this gospel and I cannot look back after what He has done for me through Kwasizabantu Mission. I look forward with hope and expectation of wonderful things to come.
