Cedar 30 Year Celebrations

Gratitude and joy marked the events that took place as we celebrated Cedar International Academy’s 30th anniversary. The event was an opportunity to praise God for His direction and grace throughout the years.

Celebrations began early Saturday morning with a family fun walk. Past students, families and friends joined in on a 5 or 10km route, that meandered through scenic trails at KwaSizabantu Mission. Whilst some chose to run, most of the participants paced themselves, enjoying the stunning scenery and pleasant company.
After working up an appetite, participants enjoyed a bring-and-braai lunch. Food stalls and activities for children created happy laughter and contagious joy.

On Saturday evening, Cedar’s alumni presented a video montage. The presentation was a reminder of the early vision and direction of the college, that was laid by Reverend Erlo Stegen and his wife, Mrs Kay Stegen. As presentations were made and speeches were given, it was clear that good seed planted over the years, did indeed find fertile ground and has produced fruit for God’s kingdom.
On Sunday morning a formal thanksgiving service was held. Professor Hannes van der Walt addressed attendees as a special guest. The message from God’s Word was a reminder that the current board, staff and students of Cedar need to build with great care, on a foundation that has been established by our forefathers.
We praise and thank God for leading us this far and trust Him for the future.
