Youth Conference July 2025

God brought together thousands of young people for the July Youth Conference at KwaSizabantu Mission. Youth arrived by the busload from across the country. As they streamed in extra accommodation was swiftly arranged. In total approximately 7000 youth were registered and warmly welcomed and in total close to 10 000 people attended the conference.
The conference theme, “Wake Up, O Sleeper,” was a timely call for an increasingly dark world. The messages, songs and testimonies urged children to awaken spiritually. They were reminded that time and opportunity are precious and limited. The answer to inner turmoil lies in a life fully surrendered to God. Just as Peter was miraculously freed from his chains and told to “arise quickly,” so God calls us to “arise quickly,” as He wants to set us free from the chains of sin.
Recent global events, such as the devastating flash floods in Texas, the tragic accident involving soccer star Diogo Jota and an avalanche/landslide in the Swiss village of Blatten were used to illustrate the urgency of responding to God's call. As we do not know the time on God's clock, now is the time to arise.
Some attendees were given the chance to share their testimonies. We give thanks to God, who delights in responding to the seeking heart and hears the cry of every soul. One young lady from Ladysmith shared, “I was touched by the life of Baba Mfundisi, as his children told their stories. I learned that my life can change too if I confess my sin.”
God’s goodness was seen in abundance. More than one million litres of water were used each day. In answer to prayer, food was supplied generously. Amongst this was 4000 litres of maas, 2.5 tonnes of mealie meal, 4.5 tonnes of rice, 800 loaves of bread each day and 7,000 litres of aQuellé, all of which brought smiles to countless young faces. Warm, nourishing meals were prepared by a dedicated team. Even the weather was a gift. The crisp, fresh mornings made the hot coffee especially welcome and sunny afternoons allowed the youth to enjoy their meals under clear skies.
The children enjoyed a day of sports and outdoor activities, hosted by the KwaSizabantu youth. A total of 79 soccer teams and 24 netball teams participated; while jumping castles, obstacle courses and a variety of fun activities gave much excitement.
As the gospel was shared, God worked through His spirit. As is its purpose, KwaSizabantu was again a place where people are helped. The honour and glory belongs to God.
Thank you to everyone who helped during the Youth Conference - may God bless each of you who assisted, prayed and contributed in a special way.
