Harvest of Hope: Emseni Farming Honoured at KZN Top Business Awards
At the KZN Top Business Awards 2026 on 16 July, Emseni Farming was awarded first place in the Agricultural and Agro-processing Sector.
The Awards recognise businesses in the province that are outstanding in their efforts to be successful and make a difference for their employees, clients and other stakeholders.
The Agricultural and Agro-processing category is awarded for driving sustainable growth, innovation and food security in KwaZulu-Natal.
The vision behind Emseni Farming has always extended beyond commercial success. At the heart of Emseni Farming's story is a legacy of service. Our founder Reverend Erlo H. Stegen’s life was dedicated to uplifting people and bringing hope to communities. Recognising the potential of the region's fertile soils, favourable climate and abundant water resources, he established farming as a means of sustaining the mission's work, creating employment and supporting community initiatives. From a small subsistence farming project, God has blessed the work and Emseni Farming has grown into a diverse agricultural enterprise that produces premium-quality fresh produce through continuous investment in technology, innovation, sustainable farming practices and above of all, the grace of God.
Community upliftment remains central to the company's purpose. Through agricultural training programmes, seedling distribution initiatives and subsidised fruit tree projects, Emseni Farming equips individuals and families with the knowledge and resources needed to grow their own food and create sustainable livelihoods.
